The government of Tanzania is planning to spend sh 105 bn
for implementation of its five years National Tree Planting Strategy
(2016/2017-2020/2021).
Under the plan the government will be dishing Sh 20 billion
annually, said Luhaga Mpina, a deputy
minister of State in the office of vice president.
The deputy minister said the plan requires each citizen,
public institutions, religious institutions, civil organizations societies and
other community to plant tree in their areas.
Mpina elaborated during his speech when he was answering the
question from the Iramba East Mp Allan Kiula who requested to know the if the
government was ready to support tree planting policy in his constituency.
