The leader of the English premium League Chelsea and the Toffee has entered the race of signing the Napoli centre back Kalidou Koulibaly on the summer transfer window.
The Senegalese has been on the radar for both clubs for a long moment, and after impressing this season in Serie A either club would have to smash their own transfer record in a deal worth £60 million.
On the last summer transfer window Chelsea
and Everton had bids rejected but are
expected to go back when the transfer window opens.
The
25-year-old played under current Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez at Napoli but now can join either of the team if the deal agreed with Napoli.
Everton’s
new majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri promised Everton fans that he
is prepared to compete financially with the top six clubs, admitted last November that they had made
a move for the Napoli defender.
